Clearwood Clinic

Description:

Welcome to our outpatient psychiatry clinic.  Currently we are doing appointments by video only.  DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE; THE OFFICE IS CLOSED.  We will be closed indefinitely.  To arrange a video visit, please call us at (586) 948-9557. Leave a message, and we will get back to you.  We are not accepting any new patients who don’t already have an appointment.

Our clinic providers include psychiatrists and a therapist who specialize in treating the behavioral and mental health needs of individuals of any age, including specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry.

We provide full psychiatric services, including evaluation, consultation, and treatment using evidence-based approaches.  Treatment plans are customized to an individual’s needs.

Conditions treated include:  abuse, adoption and attachment issues, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), parenting concerns, psychosis, schizophrenia, sleep disorders, and trauma.  Most mental/behavioral health conditions are treated in our clinic, but we do not specialize in substance abuse treatment.  We are not certified for prescribing suboxone, and we generally recommend that individuals needing high doses of benzodiazepines or pain medicine see a provider who specializes in those issues.  Individuals over the age of 65 may be better served participating in treatment with a provider specializing in geriatric psychiatry.  Disability-related paperwork is done for established patients only.

We also offer genetic testing for medication selection.  This new, innovative test investigates an individual’s ability to metabolize psychiatric medications and provides a report with medications categorized based on an individual’s metabolism.  We also offer consultative services for genetic testing for individuals who have an established relationship with another provider.  The test we typically use is called GeneSight although there are other genetic tests available, depending on a person’s needs.  Most insurances do not cover the cost of this test.

Currently we are accepting new patients with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network insurance plans.  Please call to verify our participation with any other insurance plan or to obtain cash pay rates for our services.
