YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin

Description:

Few environments are as special as camp! Whether you attend our summer camp, outdoor education, seasonal camps and activities, or corporate and group retreats, there are plenty of fun and exciting opportunities for all at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin.
YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin has over 100 years of camping experience and is located on beautiful Barlow Lake in Middleville, Michigan. Our beautiful, natural setting provides an excellent opportunity for all who visit.  We are committed to providing a camp experience rich in tradition centered on our core values, with a Christian emphasis, and allowing all who participate to gain 21st century skills, independence and life long memories.
About Camp
YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin allows you to discover the wonders of the outdoors through our core values that emphasize caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and inclusion in everything we do. Come stay with us!
There are memories and moments in our childhood that we never forget. Ask anyone who’s ever been to camp, they’ll tell you it’s among their favorite childhood memories. Whether it’s making new friends, learning new songs, gaining confidence and independence, or telling stories by the campfire, YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin has something for everyone.
The camp experience is delivered by staff carefully selected based on their passion to be role models and are trained to carry out the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusion.
There is no better way to get our kids back outside and away from screens than through a summer camp experience. According to the American Camping Association, just one week of summer camp can produce amazing impact, including increased self-confidence and communication skills, positive relationship building skills with peers and adults, decrease in summer learning loss and improved overall learning habits, not to mention a better understanding and appreciation of what the great outdoors has to offer.
Safety Comes First
YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin takes prides in its quality of staff and counselors. For our campers’ safety, every staff member has their background checked through multiple agencies that are required and recommended by our Michigan Youth Camp License and American Camp Association. Supervision is a key component to a great camp experience, so we ensure that no child is ever left unattended and no staff member is ever alone with just one child. Every member of our team goes through an intense two-week staff training that includes basic first aid and CPR as well as conflict resolution, emergency procedures, homesickness, positive praise, bullying prevention and core values recognition.
