Thrive Autism Coaching

Description:

1:1 Neurodivergent Adult Coaching

Living in a world designed for neurotypicals with a neurodivergent brain is challenging, and it is often difficult to reach your full potential. Our very diverse team of coaches understands your challenges and sees your strengths. In coaching, we collaborate to create a step-by-step plan for achieving your goals, breaking down big ideas into achievable step-by-step plans for you to work on. Sometimes we need to work for a few sessions on figuring out what your goals are, and that’s okay!
In addition to very practical skill-building, we will work on self-awareness, self-understanding, self-acceptance, and self-advocacy so you can apply these in a variety of situations to increase your quality of life. With coaching, our clients have reported an improvement in self-confidence, increased understanding of themselves, increased self-compassion, getting clear about their goals and ambitions, feeling more connected to those around them, and lowered stress levels. Our coaching sessions are conveniently conducted via Zoom from the comfort of your home.
Our coaching might be a fit for you if you struggle with:
  • Getting things done that you want to get done
  • Figuring out where to start to make the changes you are looking for
  • Recovering from burnout
  • Anxiety in social situations around small talk or expectations
  • Making and maintaining friends and romantic relationships
  • Unemployment, underemployment, or negative performance reviews at work
  • Feeling constantly frustrated by things that other people seem to know intuitively
  • Organization or accomplishing tasks needed for success with work, school, or independent living
  • Trying to fit in socially, which causes you exhaustion and burnout
  • Being told that you are emotionally out of tune or lacking empathy, but you know this is not true
  • Understanding other people’s points of view, leading to regular conflict
  • Managing your money or budgeting
  • Understanding neurotypicals

1:1 Parents of Autistic Adults Coaching

Parents of autistic adults worry as much about their adult kids as parents of younger kids. These are the most common questions I hear:
  • What will happen to them when I’m gone?
  • How do I get her out of her bedroom?
  • How do I get him off video games?
  • How do I get him to access education or find a job?
  • How can I help them build a social life?
  • My son knows he has Asperger’s but doesn’t accept the diagnosis. How do I get him to ask for help?
  • Our adult child no longer communicates with us. He is completely shut down and we are worried we will lose him.
There is plenty of reason for hope, though. I can help you figure out how to connect with your adult child and talk with them in a way that doesn’t trigger defensiveness while making them feel unconditionally supported. Creating a soft landing pad for them like this for when things don’t go their way results in more cooperation and less conflict and helps them get unstuck and move forward in life! My coaching sessions are conveniently conducted via Zoom from the comfort of your home.
Our parent coaching might be a fit for you if you want coaching on how to coach them into a thriving adulthood and you:
  • Can’t stop worrying about their future
  • Are worried about their launch into adulthood
  • Feel like they are stuck in a rut and can’t get out
  • Are anticipating a tough transitional stage: starting high school, graduating high school, starting college, starting a career
  • Have recently experienced one of those transitional stages, and it didn’t go well
  • Have read all the parenting books on Amazon, and none of them have helped
  • Feel like no one understands your situation
  • Are sick and tired of the level of conflict in your home and need to make a change
  • Are looking to connect better with your child
  • Need someone to talk to who gets it, who can tell you that you are not alone and all your complex feelings are valid

Parenting for Independence Group Coaching for Parents

Parenting for Independence is a step-by-step program for activating your autistic emerging adult’s motivation, unlocking their potential, and guiding them toward a more meaningful and productive life.

You will go from feeling chronically frustrated, shut out, and disempowered as a parent to having the relationship, confidence, and skills needed to help your autistic emerging adult gain momentum – even if they struggle with demand avoidance.

Learning alongside other parents, you will also discover that you are very much not alone.

Intimate Relationship Pathways

Intimate Relationship Pathways is a step-by-step program for autistic adults on how to identify and express your needs, boundaries, and consent, and activate your confidence in building healthy sexual relationships from the ground up!
