Description:
AUTISM
We offer comprehensive evaluations and individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) focusing on daily living, social, and organizational skills. We also provide psychoeducation, school consultation/advocacy, and work with parents to provide them with a roadmap on how to plan for their child’s future.
ADHD/DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR
We conduct comprehensive evaluations that help us identify individuals presenting with distractibility, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and executive functioning difficulties, as well as those with behavioral challenges. We also provide evidence-based behavioral interventions to help improve behavior at home and school.
PARENT CHILD INTERACTION THERAPY
Our clinicians are certified in providing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for young children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on improving the parent-child relationship, increasing child compliance, and reducing problem behaviors. We also provide Parent Management Training (PMT) for families with children above the age of 7.
PROJECT IMPACT PARENT GROUP
We offer a weekly virtual parent group using the Project Impact curriculum. This program is suited for caregivers of children (ages 6 and younger) who have been diagnosed with autism or have social communication related concerns. We teach parents evidence-based strategies to improve their child’s social communication and play skills.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS TREATMENT
Many children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with ADHD and ASD present with executive functioning difficulties. Our organizational skills treatment helps school-age youth and young adults improve their time management and planning skills.
SOCIAL SKILLS TREATMENT
We offer evidence-based social skills treatment for those who have difficulty with peer interactions and are motivated to learn how to make meaningful friendships.
ANXIETY TREATMENT
Our comprehensive evaluation helps us better understand a child’s or adolescent’s symptom presentation and provides a roadmap for treatment, which we provide at Sunfield Center. We offer evidence-based treatment from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach that involves teaching coping strategies to manage symptoms of anxiety.
TRANSITION SERVICE
We provide parents with a roadmap on how to plan for their teen’s future. We guide parents and provide tools to help teens and young adults with special needs access necessary supports and services as they transition into adulthood.
AVOIDANT RESTRICTIVE FOOD INTAKE SERVICE
Children with food aversions may need help developing better food habits and overcoming avoidance. We work with families of children who have had a complete medical workup whose restrictive intake appears to be affected by factors other than a medical condition. This treatment involves helping children develop better food habits and increase the variety and quantity of foods they consume.
CONSULTATION
Our clinicians can help educate parents and caregivers about a new diagnosis. We provide guidance and a roadmap to help parents prioritize treatment recommendations. We work with families and schools to help advocate for a child’s needs in the school setting.
