Stewart SLP
Description:
Our clinicians are licensed pediatric speech-language pathologists who have worked with children (toddlers through adolescents) for nearly 40 years, combined. We believe that children learn best when motivated, so we incorporate speech and language lessons into fun, play-based activities that appeal to the strengths and interests of each individual child. We also believe that parents are the experts on their own children, and we are committed to working closely with parents when designing therapy programs. Finally, all of our services incorporate current research for best practices.
While session styles vary greatly depending on the age of the child, a typical session includes some warm-up time (for younger children) or making a schedule together (for older children), cycling through a variety of motivating activities used to facilitate speech-language development, and ending with feedback to parents and suggestions for home practice.
We encourage parents of young children to remain present and participate in sessions. Older children often do better in 1:1 learning contexts. While the work we do with your children may feel like play (and it often is!), it is also carefully designed to teach specific skills. We keep data throughout sessions and generate regular progress reports that you may decide to share with other members of your child’s therapy team.
We provide the following services:
- FREE phone consultations
- FREE speech-language screenings (ages 3-6 years)
