WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ABA SERVICES
Your child will be assigned a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). A BCBA is someone who has earned a graduate-level certification. They must earn at least a Master’s degree, taking rigorous coursework in behavior analysis. They must also complete extensive clinical training under the supervision of an experienced BCBA, pass the certification exam, and maintain regular continuing education in the field of behavior analysis. Your child’s BCBA will be the person overseeing all of your child’s therapy and will be your main point of contact.
Treatment Planning
Upon intake, your child’s BCBA will assess your child’s skills and problem behaviors. Based on the assessment, they will develop an individualized treatment plan. They will review the plan with you and ask for your input and approval. Once the treatment plan has been approved, scheduling will begin.
Direct Therapy
Your child will be assigned one or more ABA Therapists, who will work directly with your child on a regular basis. They will be trained and supervised by a BCBA. The ABA Therapists keep a record of your child’s progress during therapy sessions, which they share with your child’s BCBA to help inform their treatment.
Parent and Family Training
Your child’s BCBA will teach you strategies that you can use to ensure that you’re getting the most out of therapy.
