Northridge Church – Special Needs Ministry
Description:
Our special needs ministry exists to serve those attenders who, due to their disability, may otherwise miss a church service or event. Between individual care and specialized groups, we are not only equipped to care for our attenders with special needs, but blessed to do so.
One-on-One Program
This program provides children/students with a special needs-trained partner to assist them to participate in their appropriate area of ministry and for special events throughout the year; offered in Plymouth at all weekend service hours – Sat 5:16p, Sun 9:16a, Sun 11:16a.
God Squad Adult Ministry
God Squad is an adult Bible study that provides a unique and appropriate setting for adults with special needs to socialize, engage in God’s Word, and serve within the church; offered in Plymouth at the Saturday 5:16p service.
The Individual Worship Plan (IWP) is designed to help the leaders in our Special Needs Ministry best understand and support your child. The IWP is modeled off of an Individualized Education Plan used in the school system to best help your child succeeded while they are with us. Their spiritual growth and worship experience is important to us. We want to help each child in this ministry to have every opportunity to develop their love for Jesus the way that best fit their needs and learning style. Thank you for entrusting them to our team, and we look forward to supporting your family.
We want everyone to encounter God’s love, and develop healthy relationships with peers and leaders. Our program for individuals with special needs is designed to meet the needs of children, teens, and adults who require special care or attention by partnering them with a one-on-one volunteer.
This small group provides parents/guardians of children and adults with special needs a positive environment to receive encouragement, guidance, and support. It allows parents to share experiences with others who are facing similar challenges while engaging in God’s Word. Respite care is provided.
Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder is a national non-profit organization improving the lives of people affected by ADHD through education, advocacy and support. The Western Wayne County Chapter meets the 3rd Thursday of every month. All adults and parents are welcome.
