Function Rehabilitation

Description:

Upper Extremity Rehabilitation
Upper extremity rehabilitation is offered to treat injuries and related conditions that can cause loss of function in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.  Treatment will address range of motion, strength, pain, swelling, and sensation to return the client to higher levels of function.
Specialized Evaluations
These evaluations can be performed throughout Michigan, including comprehensive attendant care, home accessibility, and worksite evaluations as well as Functional Capacity Evaluations.
Cognition-Communication Therapy
Speech language pathologists work closely with clients, families, and other disciplines to identify and address individual deficits specific to communication, attention, memory, learning, swallowing, social behavior, and emotional deficits.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists use their knowledge of human movement to teach people how to return to correct movement after an accident or trauma. They are able to assist people in regaining some to most of the functions they have lost, helping them regain their independence.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.
Massage Therapy
Therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.
Recreational Therapy
Recreational therapy offers its clients the skills and tools needed to function in society and increase one’s quality of life. Recreational therapists are healthcare providers who use recreational therapy interventions for improved functioning of individuals with illness or disabling conditions.
Driver Rehabilitation
Comprehensive Driver Evaluation & Rehabilitation – both on-road and clinical (clinical intervention includes cognitive-perceptual training, driver education, biofeedback, and 4-screen driving simulation.)  Training on a variety of hand controls now available.
Community Mobility After Driving
Community mobility rehabilitation can help identify the physical, psychosocial, and cognitive challenges that may restrict access to alternate forms of transportation, and then find strategies to facilitate safe and independent engagement for community mobility.
Driver Improvement Course
Offering a defensive driving course to help you keep up with the changes in traffic laws, and with tips to keep you safe on the road.  Includes both a classroom and an on-road portion.  Great for seniors, or anyone else who could use a refresher to allow them to continue to drive safely and independently.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
Functional Capacity Evaluations are provided using state of the art digital testing equipment combined with cognitive, physical, and psycho-social functional assessments if indicated.
Worker’s Compensation Rehabilitation
A rehabilitation program that prepares a client for return to work through conditioning to improve biomechanical, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, and metabolic functioning of a worker, and work hardening through simulated work activities.
Vocational Counseling
Vocational counseling services focus on individualized career development, including career exploration, academic goals, and vocational alternatives. We work with you to examine your interests, abilities, and objectives, as well as your functional limitations and compensatory strategies.
