About Mobility and Driving
Mobility is critical for our education, work, and social well-being. In most places, mobility means driving.
We are doing everything we can to enable people who want to drive, to drive safely.
Our company, Driver Rehabilitation Institute, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works with new drivers and people that have medical conditions or life experiences that affect their driving.
Combat Veterans
Drive Focus originated from work with combat veterans returning from overseas deployment. The great observational skills and hyper-alertness that keep soldiers safe in theater can work against them for civilian driving.[1,2] Drive Focus may help retrain awareness for civilian driving.
Teen Drivers
Drive Focus helps teens as well. We know that teens are more likely to be involved in crashes than any other group. As new drivers, they do not have the experience to know what information to focus on while driving. Published studies show that Drive Focus can help teen drivers [1, 2, 3]. Drive Focus is now part of the curriculum at driving schools throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Medical Conditions
Occupational therapists that work with individuals with challenges such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, stroke, and traumatic brain injury report that Drive Focus aids the training and retraining process. Drive Focus is a great motivator for visual and cognitive training.
