Comprehensive Therapy Center

Description:

Who We Serve
Our clinic serves children and adults with a primary diagnosis of mild to severe developmental disabilities or disabilities acquired in childhood who are physically, psychologically, and medically stable enough for an outpatient treatment model.
We serve clients beginning at 18 months of age.
Families with children younger than 18 months are encouraged to call us for resources and connection or referral to community support, and we welcome them in our parent groups.
Adults of any age are welcome, so long as they have a primary concern and primary diagnosis of a developmental disability or disability acquired in childhood rather than adult onset conditions.
Clients with both developmental disabilities and adult onset concerns as the focus of care would benefit from another clinic; we are happy to coordinate with other agencies whenever possible.
Some of the diagnoses our clinicians have experience with:
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Articulation Disorder
  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech
  • Childhood Muscular & Neurological Disorders
  • Cleft Palate (after or between repair)
  • Depression
  • Disruptive, Impulse-Control and Conduct Disorders
  • Down Syndrome
  • Emotional Impairments
  • Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Gross and Fine Motor Delays
  • Hearing Impairments
  • Intellectual Impairments
  • Language-related literacy problems
  • Mixed Expressive/Receptive Language Disorder
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
  • Phonological Disorder
  • Problems with tongue thrust, chewing, and feeding
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Social Communication Disorder
  • Stuttering
  • Trauma
Adults or children who should be referred to other community or medical organizations for more appropriate care:
  • Those whose physiological or medical needs warrant constant access to equipment (vitals monitoring, specialized wound dressings, etc.) or specialized services (nursing, respiratory therapy, etc.) that are not available at our clinic.
  • Those whose behavior poses a significant safety risk to themselves, staff members, or other clients participating in our programs are subject to a review by a team including at least the treating provider(s), a member of the administrative staff or board, and an uninvolved member of the clinical staff. The team can be assembled prior to acceptance into any of our clinical programs or at any time during treatment.
  • Adults, especially geriatric clients, who acquired the need for rehabilitation services in adulthood (e.g., CVA’s, oncological care, degenerative diseases, etc.).
Note: Clients who may not meet these criteria the first time we receive referral will NOT be excluded from future services if there is a change in status and another referral is made.
Spanish-Speaking Clients
CTC has a bilingual staff member who can be scheduled to work with our therapists during an initial evaluation to help us communicate with families and to help us differentiate between typical bilingual development and communication impairment. We do not offer regular therapy services in languages other than English.
Speakers of Languages Other Than English And Spanish
You have a right to understand the information being shared with you. We will endeavor to find a translator if at all possible.
