Autism Support of West Shore (ASWS) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization advocating and supporting meaningful participation in all aspects of life for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families throughout the West Michigan area. ASWS provides:
The HOPE newsletter—sharing personal stories, summaries of relevant events and calendar of activities locally and around the state
- Informal social groups for families and those who care for individuals with ASD to meet, eat and share
- Speaker series and workshops
- Community family activities for individuals with ASD, parents and siblings
- Scholarships for qualifying individuals and family for out of pocket cost for therapies, equipment, and services
- Scholarships for teachers of individuals with ASD for training registration, micro businesses within the school community, and school or transportation equipment
- Resource information (local and state)
Autism Support of West Shore offers support to residents in Allegan and Ottawa counties who have family members on the autism spectrum disorder.
Autism Support of West Shore in West Michigan provides the Hope newsletter, a bi-monthly newsletter featuring family interviews, summaries of relevant ASWS events and calendar of activities, monthly informal social groups for parents, families, and those who care about individuals with autism to meet, drink coffee, eat, and talk, regular meetings featuring guest speakers and workshops. Family activities for parents, siblings, and children with ASD are also planned throughout the year. Scholarships are available to qualified families to assist with education, equipment, and treatment. The Autism Society of West Shore also provides referral information and networking.
