- I was the founding Director of Judson Center Autism Connections
- I advocated and helped draft the legislation that changed the Autism Insurance laws in Michigan, preventing the insurance companies from discriminating against children with autism
- I’m a dog person (but also a cat person)
- The best trip I’ve ever taken (and the inspiration behind the “Amani” name) was a mission trip to Kenya
- I was born and have lived my entire life in SE Michigan
