Jill Matson and Roba Hrisseh, members of the AAoM Navigator team, attended an interactive presentation for St. Joseph Parish School, a private school in Trenton by Joshua Stokes (who is an AAoM independent contractor). Over 60 students and staff attended Josh’s presentation where he opened up about autism, how he has overcome the challenges of living with autism, and his current successes.

Roba Hrisseh mentioned that these types of presentations are so important because “school education is not just about learning curriculum and academics. It must also include learning about our our individual roles in the community, and how we can support others who may be different. It is critical to teach our children at a very young age about the importance of inclusion and acceptance of those with autism and disabilities.”

If you are interested in bringing a presentation like this to your school or community group, please contact our Navigator line at 877.463.AAOM or Navigator@aaomi.org.
