Our Mission Statement: To be a place for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults to belong, and develop the necessary skills to participate at their full potential within the community. We are a post-secondary school for young adults ages 18-26 dedicated to the advancement of individuals with intellectual disabilities. We provide hands-on education in a work-based learning program to give students necessary skills needed to be employable, maintain employment, and function as productive citizens.

Announcements:
Eligibility to attend Rising Stars Academy (RSA): Student must have a current IEP in place; will be 18 on or before December 1 of the year they are enrolling; and cannot have received a high school diploma. Certificates of Completion or Achievement are accepted. RSA does not complete K-12 education.

Smart Transportation: https://www.smartbus.org/Services/ADA-Service RSA students can become ADA certified through Smart. Please visit the ADA portion of the website (see shared link) or contact Smart at 1-866-962-5515. RSA also provides applications as a courtesy. Approval by Smart can take from two to four weeks so please plan ahead.
Remind 101: RSA utilizes Remind 101 to keep parents informed. If there is an emergency school closure or an important message to be shared, you will receive notification through Remind. You do not need to sign up each year your student is at RSA. Your information rolls over.
Student Absences: If your student is going to be absent, please contact the main office. If the office is closed, please leave a message or send an email. Many students attend job sites. It is crucial that we know if your student will be in school or not. If your student is going to be absent, we can give another student the opportunity to attend a job site.
