Description:
OCHN identifies, influences, and delivers public mental health services to 23,000 Oakland County citizens living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or substance use disorders.
OCHN’s screening process determines where your needs can be met, based on the severity and urgency of your situation. Oakland County residents who have Medicaid or are Medicaid eligible can be connected to public mental health services through OCHN’s non-emergency or Common Ground’s emergency /crisis Access points.
OCHN also provides screening, authorization, and coordination of services for alcohol and drug treatment services for Oakland County residents with Medicaid or Healthy Michigan, no insurance, and under-insured.
Sober Support Unit (SSU) – Individuals seeking help can come to the
SSU for access to substance use treatment.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
As an OCHN network service provider, Common Ground connects people in an emergency/crisis to public mental health and community services. Common Ground’s responsibilities include:
Managing the Resource & Crisis Helpline
Addressing the needs of all individuals in crisis, including those who have Medicaid, Medicare, Healthy MI, private insurance or no insurance
Determining network service eligibility
Identifying follow up resources and supports
Authorizing psychiatric hospitalization
OAKLAND COUNTY YOUTH MOBILE CRISIS TEAM 877-800-1650
The Oakland Youth Mobile Crisis Team, provided by New Oakland Family Centers, is available to families and individuals across Oakland County. The mobile team travels to homes, foster care homes, schools, emergency rooms, and other public places in Oakland County. The service is available for individuals 0 to 21 years of age who have Medicaid or are presumed Medicaid eligible, and are experiencing a mental health crisis.
The mobile crisis service includes:
Rapid mobile response with therapists and social work technicians who come to your location to help
On the spot counseling by mental health professionals
Assessment and coordination for continued stabilization
Referrals to ongoing stabilization care and services
