Description:
Dr. Megan Stowers is a Michigan native and a graduate of The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Following graduation, she returned to her hometown to practice general dentistry. While working in private practice and participating in service opportunities promoting oral health for children she recognized her passion for pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Megan earned her Master of Science from The University of Michigan. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Her research on Oral Health Literacy was published in Pediatric Dentistry and she continues to be actively involved in this topic.
Following graduation in 2011, she joined the practice of Dr. Jon Cabot. During this time, she had a joint appointment as she taught pediatric dental residents at the Mott Children’s Health Center in Flint, MI. Dr. Megan appreciates her active membership in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Michigan Dental Association, and the Detroit District Dental Association. She is also a proud member of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, which allows her to participate in lifelong learning amongst her well respected colleagues and mentors.
Dr. Megan is currently on staff at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in the department of surgery, performing full mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia. In addition, she is responsible for training the hospital’s general dental residents in aspects of pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Megan is very fortunate to have the support of her family. Outside of dentistry, she loves spending time with her husband, Ben, and their twin boys William and Jack.
