Over 300 people gather for 3rd annual Navigating Autism Today Conference
Autism Alliance of Michigan welcomed over 300 parents, caregivers and providers to Schoolcraft’s VisTaTech Center in Livonia last Thursday for a day of education, learning and networking with community services providers, educators, other parents and, of course, AAoM professional staff.
This all day Conference was completely free to attendees in thanks to our amazing sponsors and vendors. AAoM is committed to getting families the most up-to-date best practice information and consultation every day, through the MiNavigatorand again, through our family conferences.
The day kicked off with an opening panel, consisting of 3 parents of children with autism (ranging recently diagnosed to adulthood) and Ron Sandison, an adult on the spectrum. This inspirational kick-off led to a day full of breakout sessions covering topics from ABA therapy to art therapy to employment and more.
If you missed this conference, consider attending the Navigating Autism Today Regional Conference on May 12th in Frankenmuth.
We sincerely hope that all who attended left the day feeling more empowered, educated and supported to better care for their loved ones with autism. And, if anyone has any questions regarding autism, our Navigator phone line is just a call away. Please reach out to 877-463-AAOM today!
