Return to School Webinars (4 part series)

Join Michigan Alliance for Families for a FREE webinar series for parents of children with IEPs or IFSPs as we get ready to head back to school. All webinars take place on Wednesdays at 12pm, starting July 30. One registration allows you to attend all the workshops in the series. July 30 – Picture this! Developing your Student Snapshot Starting a new school year can feel overwhelming, but a student snapshot can help make introductions easier. Join us to learn how to create a simple overview of your child’s interests and needs using tools, templates, and tips. You’ll leave understanding how to build and share your own student snapshot with the school. August 6 – Start Strong – Be IEP Ready for Back to School! Join us to learn practical strategies for reviewing and understanding your child’s IEP before the school year begins. We’ll cover how to align services with your child’s needs, build your confidence, and strengthen your role as an advocate and IEP team member. Bring your child’s IEP to follow along with tools and tips. August 13 – Living Your Life with Your SPIN Young adults and their families are invited to learn how to share their strengths, preferences, interests, and needs (SPIN) in school and daily life. Attendees will leave with tools to confidently communicate what helps them succeed. August 20 – Setting Up Your Household for Success Join us to chat about getting your home and family ready for the new school year. We’ll share tips on routines, a schedule, organization, and communication to help your family start the year smoothly.
