GPS Scholarship

AAoM’s GPS Scholarship is a benefit offered to Michigan residents that are experiencing safety related needs associated with autism. These needs can comprise of:

  • Elopement (wandering or bolting)
  • Property destruction
  • Engaging appropriately with authority figures
  • Independent living

The scholarship is intended to provide individuals with a GPS device, along with a limited subscription to the device’s tracking service, who demonstrate a financial need. Tools such as these can provide a secure method for maintaining the safety of loved one’s experiencing the above needs, as well as offering peace of mind to a family as a whole.

If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, please complete the form below.

Please note, tools such as a GPS device may only offer a short term benefit to addressing needs like elopement. Connecting to a clinical service provider that specializes in behavioral safety needs is essential to addressing these items towards a long term resolution.
