Community Housing Network, Inc.

Description:

We are a nonprofit organization providing housing and housing resources for:
  • people who are homeless or facing homelessness,
  • people with disabilities,
  • people with low income,
  • and other vulnerable residents of SE Michigan.
We also create high-quality, rental residential communities with homes built and maintained to be appealing and affordable for hard-working families and individuals.
Community Housing Network helps people in need find affordable housing solutions. We help people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, people with disabilities, people with low-income, and others find decent, affordable housing.

Independent Living Club

TheĀ Man and woman independent living clubIndependent Living Club is an ongoing program of education, self help, and mutual support for people with disabilities who own a home, rent a home, or have a goal of living independently.

Topics of discussion include but are not limited to the following:

  • Money management
  • Weatherization
  • Fire safety
  • Insurance information
  • Shopping tips and guidelines
  • Maintenance
  • Minor home repair

Who is eligible?

 

The Independent Living Club is designed for people who receive services from Community Mental Health. Friends, family members, and support coordinators/case managers are also welcome.
