The Mall at Partridge Creek welcomed Autism Alliance of Michigan families to celebrate the holiday season with a sensory friendly tree lighting on Sunday, November 11th, 2018. Guests enjoyed apple cider, warm donuts, and delicious apples from Blake’s Orchard. Children could decorate tree ornaments and color holiday themed pictures. After a warm introduction from AAoM’s Chief Programming Officer, Tammy Morris, the crowd welcomed in Santa Claus. Santa led the crowd in a few holiday songs before starting the countdown and lighting up the tree. Guests were welcome to take photos with Santa to conclude the event. The sensory friendly tree lighting was a great opportunity for our autism families and friends to enjoy a holiday tradition without the complications of a non sensory friendly environment.
Join us again at The Mall at Partridge Creek for Soothing Santa Photos on December 9th. Individuals with all spectrums of special needs and their families are invited to a private photo session where extra care is taken to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs to make this a magical holiday experience.
