[thermometer raised=2350 target=10000]After the recent tragedy of Omarian Humphrey, a 9-year-old boy with autism from Davison who went missing and subsequently drowned in a nearby lake, AAoM has received over 60 GPS scholarship applications. Due to a lack of funding to meet this demand, AAoM has a growing wait list of over 40 Michigan families who have applied for a device.
Due to this high demand, we are launching an SOS campaign to raise $10,000 so we do not have to turn down families who would greatly benefit this service. $300 will cover the costs of a GPS unit and one year of activation, but any donation will help assist us in giving peace of mind to a family with a wandering loved one.
- A family receives an Amber Alert GPS tracking device plus one-year of service for their child with autism at no cost.
- The device is monitored 24 hours per day through the Amber Alert system.
- If the child attempts to wander, an alert is activated before he or she enters a dangerous situation.
