WHO WE ARE

This group is intended for moms of people with autism who live in Michigan. This is a group page that only exists within your friend pages and links us all together via our love for someone with autism.

In order to join this group you must be a mom of a person with autism AND live in Michigan.

This group was developed by a group of mom’s who needed a mom-only space. We ask that non-mom’s not try to join. There is a complimentary group that is open to all family members that gets a lot more resource postings.

OUR MISSION

This group is just another way for us to reach out and support each other! We can use this group to ask and offer support, to vent within reason about our life’s struggles, and share our stories. You can also feel reasonably comfortable sharing more intimate information about a dx or special needs issue. This is a closed group which means the anyone can see the group and the names of the members but only members can see the posts. But, keep in mind, you don’t really know everyone here. And therefore, privacy is not guaranteed.

OUR POLICIES

Remember that we are here to support one another. Please be respectful when you respond to others. Just like our children, we represent a wide spectrum of personalities and beliefs about a lot of things. But we also have different perspectives on Autism- it’s causes and treatments and even what we would change about our kids, or if we should. We are all in different places in our lives with different situations. Offer advice from a position of love and caring not righteous indignation. Realize that we all have our own path and you cannot know exactly where someone else is coming from.

It is also important that the personal information shared within the group not be shared outside the group. By joining this group you promise to keep what we share about our personal lives confidential. Violations of this trust will result in being banned from the group.
