Where does the money go?
With support from former Autism Society Oakland County, Autism Alliance of Michigan has created a Direct Care Initiative to address the critical need for recruitment and availability of Direct Care workers. This program will support increased independence and quality of life for individuals with autism. Advocacy efforts will be designed to help retain appropriately compensated, high quality staff who provide critical and intimate support for families. Direct Care workers provide a wide variety of support to individuals affected by autism including but not limited to personal care, job coaching, social interaction, navigating the community and supporting independent living.
