Procedural safeguards inform parents about the rights and protections available under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

This online workshop will explain some key procedural safeguards including:
• Parent Participation
• Prior Written Notice
• Parental Consent
• Access to Educational Records
• Independent Educational Evaluations
• Options for resolving disputes with the school

Know your rights! It sounds dry, but these are the protections in place for parents and students when interacting with the public school system.

Who should attend? Families with a child with a disability or suspected disability, school staff, other community members.
