Sensory-Friendly Day in Greenfield Village featuring the Zot Artz Outdoor Art Experience

August 1 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT

A note on timing of this event: You are welcome to come at any time between 9:30 am and 3 pm on this day. The Zot Artz Outdoor Art Experience will be taking place between 10 am and 4 pm.

This month, we are joined in Greenfield Village by Zot Artz, creators of art tools for people of all abilities (http://zotartz.com/), for an interactive outdoor art activity. As a part of this event, you will receive complimentary tickets to visit Greenfield Village, where you can take part in the Zot Artz art activity while also experiencing the historic craft shops in Liberty Craftworks and the rest of Greenfield Village.

As an additional part of this event, we will be celebrating creative minds within the autism community by offering an area in which attendees can share their creations. If an individual within your group has a creation that they have made that they would like to share with other attendees, we encourage them to bring it. A table and chairs will be set up near the Zot Artz activity for the purpose of sharing creations. If interested, please describe the creation in this registration form.

Your experience includes:

– Free tickets to visit Greenfield Village and experience the Zot Artz outdoor art activity.
– Noise-canceling headphones and earplugs for use during your visit, if needed.
– A sensory-friendly map (that features additional stops with a “maker” focus around Greenfield Village) and social narrative emailed in advance to help prepare your group for your visit.

Please note that this experience is included with Greenfield Village admission or a membership to The Henry Ford. If you are a member and interested in attending, please still sign up using this form and include the number of people who will be attending.

More Information on Zot Artz:

Zot Artz art tools bring the joy of creative expression to people of all abilities. Fun for all, they are adapted to allow children with disabilities more opportunities to create works of art. Art-making is an essential part of the human experience. Physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities no longer need to present a barrier to the enjoyment of creative expression. Zot Artz creates Art Experiences and art tools for everyone. We have invented entirely new activities for people with disabilities that invite everyone to join in the fun. Our unique experiences empower all individuals to reach their fullest potential through meaningful participation and social interactions. Inclusive art-making offers everyone the opportunity to express themselves and make their mark. Parents, friends, and family members can finally share the experience, pride, and delight that creating art can bring –

Zot Artz Mission: We do this differently than anyone else. Rather than finding ways for people with disabilities to participate in activities for non-disabled people, we create entirely new activities and projects for people with disabilities and invite those without disabilities to join in.

Ticket confirmations will be sent via email. All tickets will be held at the Greenfield Village entrance for pick up on August 1st.

This sensory-friendly event is made possible in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (Grant MA-245773-OMS-20).
